Architecture for Business Owners

Based in Tokyo and Kamakura, we design buildings for business executives as well as corporate cultural facilities.

A business owner's home is not just a home.
It is because the people who have made decisions
It is a space to return to one's origins.

Rather than pursuing luxury and the fullness of facilities,
Create a space where ideas can quietly arise.

That is our design approach.

CONCEPT

Make the origin space.

For business owners, a home is a place to rest,
It is also a place to organize your thoughts and prepare your future decisions.

What have you valued?
What decisions have you made?
What are we trying to protect from now on?

This idea is crystallized into a spatial composition.

Materials, structure, light.
The silence and tension of the space.
We design architecture that reflects these ideas internally.

Architecture is not an investment in capital, but an investment in ideas.

value

The value of architecture for business managers is
It cannot be measured by size or equipment specifications.

The true value is
It's about whether it gets deeper over time.

It is not just a simple combination of components,
Facing the materials and communicating with the craftsmen
I'm always thinking about creating space.

1. Technology supports beauty from behind the scenes

To make the most of the material's appeal,
The structure, durability, insulation, airtightness and weatherproofing must be thoroughly considered.
Beauty is based on technique.

2. The beauty of the materials determines the value of the space

Natural materials have a depth that artificial materials do not have.
It absorbs light, creates shadows, and feels warm to the touch.
These textures are what determine the dignity of the space.

3. A timeless design that retains its value for a long time

Trend-driven designs become outdated in 10 years.
However, architecture that focuses on the beauty of materials is
Its value will remain unchanged even after 50 years.

4. Unique expressions created by handwork

Plaster marks, the location of knots in the wood, lines in the stone...
In craftsmanship, no two pieces are ever the same.
This is proof that it is the only piece of architecture in the world.

design philosophy

Plastering, wood, earth, stone.
The texture of handcrafted items matures over time.

As the owner progresses, the space matures.
That is our design philosophy.

1. Feel the breath of the material

Wood, plaster, earth.
Natural materials change appearance depending on the angle of the light.
These changes will determine the quality of your time at the villa.

2. Space with space is beautiful

White space is a luxury.
In a vacation home, “not putting anything out” enhances its beauty.

3. Light and shadow create space

Light is the most delicate material.
Instead of direct light, use soft, angled light to create shadows.

4. Calculate the line of sight

“By designing "where to look,"
It creates depth and tranquility in the space.

WORKS

01

Cherry Blossom House

There is a large opening on the south side so that people can enjoy the cherry blossoms, and the windows are placed closely together to allow the wind to flow from north to south.
This is a two-family home with a modest exterior. The ceilings on the second floor are as large as possible, creating a space that stretches vertically. The design was carefully crafted to create a sense of scale so that the small size doesn't feel cramped. The small chairs and lighting are uniquely designed to complement the earthen walls. The size of the furniture and other fixtures was also carefully considered.

02

Fortified house

The house is centered around a folding screen-like wall. Based on the concept of treating architecture as an extension of the hand, the wooden framework is marked and hand-carved, and the ridge is raised using traditional carpentry techniques. The walls are made of bamboo latticework and painted with earth.
The zigzag walls continue up to the zigzag ceiling on the second floor, forming the overall structure. The house is neither Japanese nor Western in style, and is made of natural materials such as washi paper, earth, and wood, with the furniture, lighting, and other fixtures also designed and manufactured by the designer.

03

House with cedar and lime

The wooden, single-story house has a clean exterior design. Cedar with almost no knots is used for the finish. All materials are carefully dried using a low-temperature drying technique, and solid wood without adhesives is used. Plaster is also used for the exterior and interior walls. The exterior is finished with traditional polished Tosa plaster. The interior has a modern finish developed specifically for this house, using plaster and powdered Towada stone as an aggregate. The house is based on natural materials and was designed to suit each and every request of the client.

VOICE

Villas and mansions (newly built)

The impression I got from this house was that the act of "living" itself
I feel a deep affection for it. A home that can be lived in comfortably even as you grow older.
I'm really happy that it was made.

Villas and mansions (newly built)

I was surprised to find that I could naturally take a deep breath when I entered this house.
The morning light reflects off the plaster walls, filling the entire space with a calming atmosphere.
"It's not just a home, it's a place of healing."
I'm really grateful to have been able to create a space where I can feel that way.

Villas and mansions (renovation)

Just being at home makes the noise in my head
It will disappear quickly.
What I particularly like is the windows that allow you to see outside from inside the room.
During the morning light, "this house helps me to get organized."
I feel that way.

Villas and mansions (renovation)

Making use of the existing building,
A home with a completely new atmosphereIt has been reborn as.
It's not just a superficial renovation,
I feel like my life has been redesigned.
thank you.

Villas and mansions (newly built)

When you actually enter the roomPhysical comfortThere is.
The materials, lighting, and visibility have all been carefully considered.
Every time I stay here I realise the value of this building.
